DISCONTINUING LESSONS:

We understand that schedules, interests, and financial situations can change. For that reason we don’t charge a cancellation fee, and there is no long-term commitment beyond our month-to-month agreement. We do ask that if you choose to discontinue lessons, please let us know in advance by the 15th of the month. No refunds are given for the current month but we will stop invoices for the following month.

STUDENT RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Materials - Students are responsible for the purchase of their own books, instruments, and other materials needed for the lessons they are receiving. Our teachers will be happy to assist in referring our students to where they can obtain these items, however they are not responsible for providing them personally.

  • Practicing - Each teacher instructs how much practice is ideal for each student and will encourage students in their practicing. Nevertheless, once the lesson is over it is up the student to do their own practicing. Progress will be made most quickly by those students who maintain or surpass the recommended practicing time. Parents are also encouraged to be involved in their child’s practice. Taking time to listen to your child play their weekly songs, or creating a set time for practicing in the student’s daily routine are good ways to become involved.

  • Attendance - Students are responsible for their time slot with Picco Music Academy. If a student is not available for their weekly lesson for any reason it is not the responsibility of the teacher to make up the missed lesson, or the responsibility of Picco Music Academy to reimburse the student for the missed lesson. In addition to this, students are asked to contact their teacher 24 hours in advance if a student will be unavailable for their lesson. For lessons that are cancelled by a teacher, the teacher must offer makeup options within that quarter. If no acceptable times can be agreed upon then a credit will be given.

  • Student Contracts - Students or parents of students being taught by Picco Music Academy must agree to the Studio Policy. This contract ensures that both students and parents understand the business arrangement.
